Georg Jensen Harald Nielsen had an outstanding talent as a designer and was the originator of some of the most successful designs from Georg Jensen Silversmithy in the 1920s and 1930s, including the Old Fanish sterling silver flatware collection. Nielsen came to the Georg Jensen as an apprentice as early as 1909 and went on to become Georg Jensen's most trusted colleague. After Georg Jensen's death in 1935, Harald Nielsen made it his life's work to carry on the master's work.

Designed in 1927 by Harald Nielsen, the Pyramid sterling silver cutlery pattern was inspired by a fascination of Ancient Egyptian forms and symbolism which were in vogue in the late 1920s after the discovery of Tutankhamon's tomb. Pyramid's Egyptian motif, seen in the stepped pyramid finial topped off with a small ball, illustrates Harald Nielsen's contribution to the highly stylized and geometric art-deco style.
